This document provides operational safety instructions for Bridge personnel, shore contacts, coaches, and safety boats during events at Plas Heli. It focuses on medical response, communication with the Event Safety Officer (ESO), landing points, and emergency service coordination.

1. Event Safety Management & Competitor Information

Bridge and shore personnel should have:

• A copy of the Event Safety Management Plan

• A list of competitors

These are essential for situational awareness and incident response.

2. Medical Casualties & First Aid

The Event Safety Officer (ESO):

• Is informed of personnel with first aid training

• Must be notified immediately if an ambulance is called from the water

• Is responsible for contacting external emergency services

First Aid Process

• Safety Boat makes initial assessment

• Safety Boat contacts the medic

• Medic decides whether to use:

  • First Aid Landing Point, or

  • Emergency Landing Point (for significant injuries)

3. Emergency Services & what3words Locations

Ambulance Arrival Point

• Roundabout entrance to the quayside

Safety Boat Landing Point

• Hammerhead berth

These locations must be known by Bridge and safety boat crews.

4. Emergency Calls

External emergency calls:

• Should only be made by the ESO, unless life is in grave and imminent danger.

“An emergency call can be made by personnel on the water, if they deem that life is in grave and imminent danger…”

Safety boats must inform ESO as soon as possible if they make a direct emergency call.
